FIELD TRAINING OFFICER (FTO)

Course Description: This comprehensive training provides information for the implementation of an effective field training program within a department. The course will cover all aspects of the field training program to include recruit officer orientation, communication, motivation, principles of learning, evaluation, and termination.
Who Should Attend: Those officers assigned as field training officers and those assigned to supervise new officers.
Tuition/Registration Fees: Registration fees are due by the first day of class. If fees are not paid 7 days prior to the start of the class, the student will not be allowed to attend the course. Forty-eight (48) hour notice of cancellation is required for full tuition refund. Exceptions to the refund policy will be made at the discretion of the Director of Training.
Cost:
- $540 - tuition, meals, and lodging

- 14 hours of Technical Studies
- 4 hours of Interpersonal Perspectives
- 2 hours of Skill Development
- 2 hours of Legal Studies
